Some of the locals lovingly refer to their town as, 'Whitstabubble'. If you happen to visit Whitstable you could probably see why.
My husband lived here for most of his young life, with his family and friends still living there now. We spend time here as family, and enjoy a little stroll through the town. The harbour also, although especially on sunnier days!
I have taken countless photos of Whitstable over the 17 years. A few years back, photographed the aggregates building and fisherman's net (rope), which I combined to make this design.
Within most of my fabric designs, I allow for negative space to be filled in with colour and thus lending more to the overall impact of the composition and structure of the pattern, to create a kaleidoscopic effect.
The pale blues, stone colours, and light and dark grey's mimic the colours you may associate with the beach.
Internal shade fitting: UK, Europe: The shade fits the standard bayonet cap (BC) and also with Edison Screw (E27) lamp holders (remove the converter plug in the centre of the fitting). US & Canada: unless otherwise stated, washer fittings (1/2" ring) will be used, for lamps that use a harp or vertical rod system.
Fabric design: The placement of the design, at the seam, may vary. This is because they are handmade and come in varying sizes, but will always retain 25cm high as part of the design.

Combining the circles of the net with its pale and dark blue hues, and the straight edges of the aggregates building, with its stone colour ways - harmonise and compliment one another very well.
Sometimes, when I look at the solid dark grey areas, I think they take on the shape of a Spitfire, which I associate with Kent and the nearby Dover Coastline and the RAF.
